I'm A Hippie - OOTD

Technically, this is an airport OOTD. Kinda dressed up to go to the airport to wait for my brother but it was fun. We also went out to dinner.

This is a new skirt I got in a super adorable little store in a town on the beach. It's just a basic long hippie skirt. Yeah, I don't know the official name. I also am wearing a hippie-esque top I got at Target... I believe. It's very old. Like, 2 or 3 years old. Anyway, I also have a belt that is seriously older than... my dog. This belt I got for Christmas like 5 years ago. It's Arizona brand. It's held up nicely, though! I put my hair up in a doughnut bun and added a scarfy headband I also got at the cute store on the beach. The headband doesn't go too perfectly with the white-on-white I have on the rest of my body but hey, do hippies have time to care what colors they're wearing? No. They just put clothes on and go. You just have to be able to dance in them. You can definitely dance in this skirt.
Here's a closeup of my hair. I'm obviously not wearing my hippie shirt in this photo. I had to skillfully put on and take off like 3 shirts, which made my bun super sassy and messy. Wonderful.

How to style High-Waisted shorts when you don't have a crop top

So recently I got this brilliant pair of high waisted shorts at pacsun. The problem is, I don't have any crop tops. Now, I can always just wear a normal shirt over them and act like they're normal shorts. But, what's the fun in that? So, I did some digging. Here lie several ways to wear high waisted shorts even when you don't actually own any crop tops.

This is the first thing I came up with. The theory is that the little designs in the top will show the shorts under them, so you can still tell you're wearing high waisted shorts. This top is kind of flash-dance-esque already. It's looser and a bit shorter than the average shirt but not a crop top, per sae. I like this style quite a bit. Anyway, yeah. It looks good with high waisted shorts.

This concept can be applied to make so many awesome things. Just tuck in a t-shirt and put a jacket or loose kind of top over it. This denim top is literally the answer to everything. I wear it far too often. But that just means it's well loved. Anyway, I love this look so much. Just tuck in any t-shirt with a coordinating color and throw something loose and button-up on top and BOOM. Awesome. I love mixing textures and tightness. A tight shirt and tight shorts is just too Miley-Cyrus-esque, so I throw a loose denim overshirt over it and that adds texture AND loose-ness! Win!

Same idea here. I added a belt for extra interest, and the white sheer(ish) button-down top makes this outfit so sleek and classy. Well, chic. Minimalistic. No patterns here or anything. Just color blocking, I guess. You might wanna add some shoes with a bit more KABOOM (meaning, they have a wild pattern or something awesome) and this look is complete! This is a tank top on top, by the way. The "tuck in a t-shirt" idea also applies flawlessly to a tank top. Just make sure you smooth out the bottom of the tank top. Make sure it's not bulky and funny-looking down there.

Here I have two variations of the same thing. On the left I have a normal blazer paired with the same tank top as the previous look. And in the right photo, I have a lace blazer. Very similar look. But, still different enough to be noted. The lace blazer shows more of the colors beneath it, so this is more casual and, for lack of a better word, "whimsical." The left photo is less whimsical. The normal blazer gives the outfit a much classier aura. It dresses the outfit up. Which is fun.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate how awesome this top is? Oh, and don't do what I did. Notice how you can see the little "u" of the shirt tucked into the shorts? Yeah, don't do that. Be sure everything is nice and smooth. It's quite important when you're wearing skin tight shorts.

Right, so the concept of this outfit is very valid, despite the tremendous fail on my part. Again, a loose flash-dance-esque shirt that's slightly shorter than the average shirt but not short enough to be a crop top. Just tuck it into your shorts in the front and let it hang out in the back and BAM. A completely different look! I LOVE this look. It applies to any top that's loose. It would look kinda funny with a tight shirt, though. You're better off tucking a tight shirt into the shorts all the way around. But as far as this shirt goes: I don't know. It's just awesome. I love black and white with a pastel color. It's foolproof.

New OOTD! Purple and red and CHERRIES

WHOA SHE WEARS HER HAIR UP! Yes, she does. And it also took her so long to get it to do this, she tried like 6 times and by the time it worked she was sweating and SO ANGRY. FKWE;OGIHAWELGn But it's all good. I was really proud of my perfect bun. It's not a sock bun, either! I used a tutorial on youtube to guide my endeavors, but changed it a bit because the way it was shown was not workin on my layered hair. Anyway, this outfit includes red and purple. A color combination that always makes me excited because it almost... doesn't work, But I think it does. A lot of what I do treads the very, very thin line between awesome and really stupid. Okay, so the cherry print tank top is Arizona brand. The red short sleeved cardigan thing is from Mossimo. Those shorts I got very recently at JC Penney. I don't remember what brand they are, but they're super comfortable. They're some kind of fabric that is not denim. They're a kind of cotton. Anyway, they fit really well and they are super fun to do with outfits like this because they are almost out of place. It's just so exciting to me. Those shoes are from Target... I think they're Mossimo brand. They're like $11. AWESOME. The necklace which is pretty much invisible in this picture is the vintagey looking one I got in the Empire State Building gift shop. Today was a 91 degree and humid type of day, so this outfit was awesome and light and not... boring. It's a lot of things, but it's not boring. I dunno. It's kind of an odd thing to put together but I like it okay? Okay.

MY FACE WHOA

This photo was taken the day I went to the fair with my buddies. I felt quite amazing and proud of my eyelashes which I spent SO LONG on. In the end, they looked amazing. Not gonna lie. I used the Maybelline Colossal mascara thing in waterproof as the first thin coat, then put on like 20,000,000 coats of Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes, which is my HOLY GRAIL mascara. Seriously, it works miracles. It never clumps. With each coat, it just gets better and better! It's so magical.

I used my Naked palette to create this whole look I believe. I honestly don't remember. But what matters is this mascara. Nothing else in the world matters. Except maybe Nutella.

Summer OOTD

This one's actually quite recent. The floral print shorts are from Forever 21. Those are, shocklingly, a different type of boots! Those are my witch boots. I got them at... surprise surprise... JC Penney. The white top is from Forever 21 as well. Tank underneath is also from Forever 21. It's barely off-white. It went perfect with this sheer white top (which is almost off-white but not quite but also not stark white). The necklace I got in the Empire State Building in New York. It's super awesome and vintage and I wear it ALL THE TIME. Sorry not sorry. Socks that barely peek out from my boots are from American Eagle. Why the awkward hand on tummy, you ask? Because I was showing off meh sexyliscious ring and bracelet. Both from Forever 21. Can you tell I'd just been to Forever 21? Eh, it's not too obvious.

OOTD full of ORANGE!!

Hey guess what I'm wearing combat boots again. This time rolled down! But yeah. This outfit looks so awesome with my orange purse. The orange shirt (from JC Penney) really pulls out the orange in this pastel top which has a pattern that kinda looks like shattered glass... also from JC Penney. These are my favorite jeans again. I HAVE OTHER JEANS I SWEAR. I just never take pictures of my outfits in other pairs of pants. They're not worthy!!! Anyway, the boots are from JC Penney (in case you're new around here) I'm wearing my turtle necklace I got from the Newport Aquarium in Cincinnati. I wear it almost every day. No necklace to wear? HELLO MY TURTLE FRIEND

Last Day of School OOTD!!

I WORE RED LIPSTICK TO SCHOOL!! It felt amazing. It was so bold and I just felt so... powerful. Yeah. The jean overshirt thing is from American Eagle and it's real jean and not Chambray! That means it's chunkier like real denim and actually keeps me warm! This dress is seriously my favorite dress of all time and I wear it everywhere. It's the solution to everything. Orchestra concert you don't know how dressy you have to be? This dress. Dad wakes you up and only gives you half an hour to get ready for church and eat breakfast and EVERYTHING... This dress. It's from Wet Seal. I swear, I don't really like that store but I walked in one day and it was like ATTACK OF THE WHITE LACE DRESSES. There were so many variations of lace dresses! This one looks so good! Shoes are from Target, the bag is just the bag I bring everywhere no matter what I'm wearing. It's from JC Penney. The red lipstick is a sheer version of Fire & Ice by Revlon. I didn't apply it in its full explosively red potential because I'm not THAT bold. Yet. You may notice that bracelet looking thing on my wrist... yeah those are the hair bands I have on my wrist at all times. They're in every OOTD photo. I'm not witholding information, I swear!
